Unspooling
Client: Cornerhouse
Crafted: Identity + Website + Posters + Gallery Guide + Animation
This major exhibition sought to re-imagine Cornerhouse Galleries as a 'fourth cinema space', a place to experiment with ideas of what cinema could be. In response, we produced an identity that graphically represented film exploding from its fixed flat screen. Working across many formats, we developed posters, gallery guide, internal vinyl and a short animation.
We also developed the first Cornerhouse exhibition micro-site, extending the show beyond the physical and time restricted confines of the gallery onto a digital platform.
We produced everything in-house, including the site build. This project has lead to a number of ongoing projects with Cornerhouse, including Lost is Found, The People You’re Not and New Cartographies.
What Clare said:
"Design By Day have designed branding and materials for several Cornerhouse exhibitions including Unspooling: Artists and Cinema, The People You’re Not and New Cartographies. In all cases the results have been superb.
They consistently demonstrate a real talent for liaising effectively with artists and curators and getting to the heart of the brief. Their work has added real value to the exhibition offer, generating great feedback from our audiences and design press.
Their expertise in digital design has been of particular value to us, in particular the design and development of the Unspooling microsite which allowed us to add real depth to our digital content and received more than 3,000 visits during the course of the exhibition."
