This month we welcome Victoria Simpson to the DBD family. She joins us as Studio Manager and has already begun to ensure that the studio is ship shape!
It’s great to have you join us Victoria! Being a small company, we employ many ’T shaped’ people here at DBD. Can you tell us a bit about your background and why the move to Studio Manager?
Thank you, I am absolutely loving it! I am from a design background having worked within the creative industries for the past 8 years. Co-founding my former design studio really helped accelerate my move from designer to being focused within the organisational and managerial side of studio life which I love.
What attracted you to the position at DBD?
I have been looking for the right studio manager position within the creative industries for a while, DBD was the perfect fit. The team are not only super talented but have a great ethos and values akin to my own.
What are you most looking forward to getting stuck into in your new role?
Ooh, lots, especially ensuring the smooth running of the studio and becoming an integral and supportive part of the DBD team.
Tell us a bit about your passion for print and what you do when you’re not here at DBD!
I love print, I’m a bit of a hoarder for nice printed ephemera! When I am not at DBD I will be setting up my own little shop selling an eclectic range of printed goodies and homewares.
We have a bit of healthy university rivalry here at DBD, with Manchester Metropolitan and Salford University currently neck and neck. Can you tip the balance?
Unfortunately not as I went to Leeds Art University, so I shall remain a neutral on the fencer!
